Orange Marine operates a fleet of four cable-laying vessels, working year-round from bases in France as well as from other international ports.

The crew and technical team are ready to set sail 365 days a year, within 24 hours of the call, to carry out any necessary repairs. Our expert onshore support services ensure that operations run smoothly. Repairs take an average of about ten days, depending on the transit time to the area in question. Installations, on the other hand, may take several months.

Operations are managed by two expert and complementary teams:

• he captain and his crew (about 50 people), responsible for navigation and safety on board.
• The head of mission and the technical team.They include telecommunications experts, jointers, and pilots of underwater vehicles (such as Plough and ROV). They are responsible for cable operations and maintain relationships with the client, who is present on board throughout the mission.

These two teams work closely together in order to ensure the highest quality services and end results, be it private clients as well as international consortia with complex subsea and submarine cable networks.

On average, each vessel carries out of between 12 and 15 projects or repair operations per year.

The ships are equipped with the most advanced software for laying and repairing cables (Espadon and Myosotis) and satellite communication systems (Inmarsat-B and VSAT), which ensure a permanent internet connection on board.
